Today I want to talk about a simple smart switch—but with a twist. This isn’t just a basic on/off switch. It’s an RGB smart switch, meaning the entire interface lights up in RGB and can be fully controlled through Home Assistant.
The switch has two separate lighting zones:
Both can be controlled independently, giving you a lot of options for feedback lighting, color coding, scenes, or just fun effects.
I came up with a very useful idea for home automation. It’s based on having a database of recipes with their required temperatures.
This idea came to me when my mom started the oven for some Walmart pizza, and the temperature stayed the same as before. So, what if you could simply ask your smart speaker to not only turn on the oven but also set it to the correct temperature for a specific recipe?
Govee2MQTT is currently the best way to control your Govee devices. You’ll need an MQTT server for it to work. In this blog, I’ll be focusing on integration with Home Assistant. One awesome feature is that Govee2MQTT even controls my smart kettle, so I can have my coffee ready to go—how cool is that?
Step 1: Install MQTT (if it’s not already installed).
Step 2: Install mactomqtt.
